I give this story 3.5 stars because it was too short and character development was somewhat rushed. But I liked the premise and the writing style was good. I hope we see more of the main characters in the next story because the writer left me with so many unanswered questions...I mean, seriously, these two have so many obstacles on the way to their HEA that haven't been resolved in this story. Good read.
Jennifer Hilt has a gift for bringing her characters to life—no pun intended.
When we first meet Meg she is working on a scrapbook for her roommate, Ash, a man she finds very sexy. But we all know the truth. Meg isn’t making the scrapbook because Ash is sexy; she has already fallen in love with him.
As the story develops we come to know Meg more fully. She is funny; dedicated to her profession, even at her own risk; compassionate; and determined. We like her! And we know we’re going to miss her when the story ends.
It takes a little longer to see Ash’s personality in full. He is really into being the alpha bear! But we see touching clues to his tender, loving side. He takes in stride the bags of synthetic blood Meg keeps in the refrigerator. He sweetly and humbly begs the injured Meg’s forgiveness even as he desperately tries to save her. He refuses to leave her side until she is completely healed.
Paranorms or not, Jennifer Hilt’s characters are real and engaging! I look forward to meeting more of them.
I don't think I read the same book. I got this book off of free, and started reading. I read all the way up to " oh your cold let me warm you up and boom sex" It didn't catch my interest, sadly I didn't finish it , and I did skip to the end and read last chapter. And I still didn't want to go back and read it. Just not my cup of tea.

Having read another of the Icy Den Cap stories first, this one was a little slow.
Living near the arctic circle makes life difficult for the new doctor, a vampire. As vampires are cold-blooded animals, cold is rather dangerous to them. Therefore Meg needs to keep warm at all times.
Her landlord, a polar bear shifter, finds her very attractive, but he has to resist. Things change during a darng rescue mission, where Meg nearly dies of cold.
Fairly straight forward, a nice story, but nothing out of the ordinary.
What a delightful, sexy, and incredibly fun story! A vamp and an ice bear.....mates? Opposites really do attract!
Bad things are happening in Icy Cap. Enchantment. Bear traps. Succubus. As if Ash and Meg doesn't have enough challenges already!
Mates are forever. Mates trust each other explicitly. So what happens when family interferes? One word. TROUBLE!
It's been a few years since I've indulged in shifter romance and this story is a delightful reminder of what I've been missing! I love this story and look forward to book 2! Each story can be read as a standalone. No cliffhangers!
Four amazing stars for Ash and Meg!!
I'm with some of the other reviewers here, this is a light read it has the potential to be much better. The main characters are well developed the plot is ok but there are so many questions left unanswered. It is too focused on the main characters with no interaction between others other than Tristian and Trudy. They are supposed to be the town sheriff and the doctor they should be interacting with other people so this little bubble that the story takes place is kind of unbelievable. So Jennifer you have the potential to be a great writer, you have the imagination, the character development, a great outline just pad it out into a believable story, and the story will not be finished until the mystery of the traps has been solved.
Just stating that it could be a succubus with no supporting evidence is not good enough. So if erotica is all you want you will enjoy this book but if you want a good read wait for a re-write.

This is really a great read, the author is spot on with the characters and the theme
This is a series I could really get into - it has everything there -
suspense, serious romance, paranormal, questionable characters, future problems, current psychos running around - honestly everything is here for potential greatness!!
The problem - I think she forgot to write it and just published her notes!!
This was short - not like novella short -but like looking behind my kindle and in my purse trying to figure out which void sucked up the rest of it
Please PLEASE make this a full novel
